Saturday, 2 August – Batchelor and Litchfield NP

Because we had a short drive to our next camp spot we headed for a swim at Berry Springs Nature Park on the way. The spring starts at one end of the park as a warm waterfall and progresses through a couple of channels into large ponds of clear, warm water populated with 5 or 6 species of fish.

If you stand still the little archer fish nip at any scabs and insect bites on your skin. By the time you get out any scabs are gone. Not sure if that’s a good or bad thing.

We arrived at Batchelor in the early afternoon and had a look around town (3 minutes) then went to the local annual fair (5 minutes). Next option was a swim in the caravan park pool which was a bit cool so that was about 10 minutes worth.

Next day we toured Litchfield National Park with Jen and Rob as passengers. The highlights were the magnetic anthills, Wangi Falls, the old Blyth homestead and Florence falls. We had a couple of great swims at the falls which had clear warm water.
