Our first task was to get Maree stitched up at casualty. After 8 stitches in her right knee Maree was on her way to recovery. The next couple of days were spent doing some tourist things like the Transport Hall of Fame, the Pioneer Womens Hall of Fame and, on our last day based at Alice, we took a day excursion to Ruby Gap.

| Picnic Lunch at Ruby Gap |
The road to Ruby Gap started off as a good gravel road, then turned into a track and finally a rock hopping, sandy river bed sort of track. Kaz gave the track a 3F rating after Gordo had a minor mishap with a large rock on the side of the track.
After a picnic lunch at Ruby Gap we started back over the rocks and through the sand. On the way we scavenged for garnets and found many. The place should have been call Garnet Gap but that probably doesn’t sound as good.
We had a nice dinner at the Alice Hilton on our last night. What a contrast to lunch earlier that day at Ruby Gap.
